Dako’s Dynamic Gap IHC staining shows benefits in white paper

Dako has announced positive findings from a white paper detailing the advantages offered by its groundbreaking new immunohistochemical (IHC) staining principle.

The paper has detailed the performance of the Dynamic Gap IHC staining technology in supporting consistent, reproducible IHC staining with no observed common artefacts, meaning it could represent a major breakthrough for pathology labs worldwide.

Available exclusively on the new Dako Omnis instrument, Dynamic Gap uses capillary force during reagent application while switching to continuous movement of reagents during incubation and washes.

This process has been designed to provide high-quality, uniform staining over the entire tissue section and increases the consistency of the process, while preventing defects such as patchy staining, edge effects and air bubbles.

Britt Meelby Jensen, Dako's general manager, said: "Dako Omnis was designed to improve the consistency of staining results and accuracy of patient diagnoses, and Dynamic Gap staining is an important part of this process."

This comes after the company's HER2 IQFISH pharmDx tool had its effectiveness underlined in an independent French multicentre study last month.
