Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica to sponsor BQA programme

Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica Inc (BIVI) has announced that it is to partner with the checkoff-funded Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) programme and sponsor its certification for all producers who enroll through April 15th.

It will mean that BIVI will cover the certification fee for beef or dairy producers who want to become certified or recertified during this period.

BQA is well respected in the cattle industry as it provides a set of best practices for the production of safe and high-quality beef product, while also providing assurances for consumers.

"One of the challenges that beef producers face is having all of their employees become BQA certified," said Dr Jerry Woodruff, professional services veterinarian with Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica. 

"BIVI's partnership with BQA helps offset some of those expenses and we encourage producers and their employees to use the web-based training programmes," he added.

It is the second time BIVI has sponsored the programme.
