GE Healthcare to acquire CHCA Computer Systems
GE Healthcare has agreed a deal to purchase CHCA Computer Systems, an operating room management and analytics solutions provider based in Canada.
The takeover ties in with the company's industrial internet strategy and recent commitment to investing in strong and innovative businesses that enhance GE's software footprint.
CHCA is known as the developer of the Opera software application, a solution for improving productivity and patient satisfaction in the operating room by providing real-time data to support decision -making and management of surgical procedures.
GE Healthcare has closely collaborated with CHCA to distribute and support the Opera solution in Europe since 2003.
Jan De Witte, president and chief executive officer of GE Healthcare IT, said: "We will now be able to offer more of our customers end-to-end workflow and decision support software solutions in high acuity care."
This comes after the firm completed its takeover of API Healthcare, a healthcare workforce management solutions provider, earlier this year.
