Beiersdorf continues recent strong performance during Q1 2014
Beiersdorf has announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2014, during which it generated a sales total of 1.6 billion euros (1.3 billion pounds).
This represented a nominal increase of 1.2 percent, or 6.7 percent on an organic basis. Both of Beiersdorf's business segments contributed to the positive performance, which maintained the strong momentum seen during 2013.
Key brands such as Nivea, Eucerin and La Prairie all benefited from increased levels of demand, leading the organisation's management to declare its satisfaction with the recent performance.
For the year as a whole, the firm expects to achieve a year-on-year group sales increase of between four and six percent, with both its consumer and Tesa divisions to see improved performances.
Stefan Heidenreich, chief executive officer of Beiersdorf, said: "We continued the company's steady upward trend, delivered strong sales growth and continued to gain market share in our relevant markets and key categories."
The strong Q1 2014 results speak of the success of the company's Blue Agenda business strategy, which has involved internal reorganisation schemes and several key rebranding efforts.
