Hologic names new chief financial officer

Hologic has announced that Robert McMahon will be joining the company in the role of chief financial officer later this month.

Mr McMahon boasts more than 20 years of financial leadership experience, having previously held a number of senior positions within the Johnson and Johnson group. He most recently served as global vice-president of finance and business development for Ortho Clinical Diagnostics.

When he joins Hologic on May 26th 2014, he will succeed outgoing chief financial officer Glenn Muir, who is retiring from the business, though he has agreed to stay until November 30th to aid the transitional process.

This comes in the same week that Peter Valenti was appointed as the firm's division president for breast health.

Stephen MacMillan, president and chief executive officer of Hologic, said: "We are building a winning team and Bob brings core skills and leadership capabilities that will help improve our performance."

Mr MacMillan is himself a relatively new recruit, having joined the firm from Stryker as a successor to Jack Cumming at the end of last year.
