Horiba provides analyser devices to Coventry University
Horiba has earned positive testimonies from staff at Coventry University after providing the institution with new haematology and clinical chemistry analysers.
The university's department of biomolecular and sports science has installed the devices in order to provide its biomedical science degree students with practical experience of real-life clinical instrumentation and applications.
As such, a mock clinical laboratory setting has been established, complete with a Horiba ABX Pentra 120 high-throughput haematology analyser and ABX Pentra 400 chemistry analyser. Staff and students have been trained in their use by qualified technical and biomedical staff.
Having these instruments on hand improves the expertise and employability of the students, helps to foster enthusiasm in the subject and teaches them about the critical importance of calibration and quality control.
Yvonne Elliot, practitioner and senior lecturer in biomedical science at Coventry University, said: "We have already found Horiba's training and support on site, as well as via telephone, to be excellent. This ensures that our analysers are always operating optimally."
This comes after the company launched its new EFiS, AToR and iRiS cameras for laboratory applications earlier this month.
