Simplyhealth provides donation to St Ann’s Hospice
Simplyhealth has announced it has made a charitable donation of more than 4,000 pounds to St Ann's Hospice.
The facility, which is Greater Manchester's largest hospice, will use around half of this sum to support its Pay For A Day scheme, which will see it extend its service out into the community on June 9th 2014 – a date chosen by Simplyhealth.
Meanwhile, the remainder will be used to pay for arts and crafts activities for day care patients. The money has been donated in recognition of the hospice's work in the community, which involves helping around 3,000 patients and their families each year in Greater Manchester.
James Glover, spokesperson for Simplyhealth, said: "Last year, we took part in fundraising and networking events for St Ann's Hospice and we're pleased to be able to continue our support by helping them reach others in the local community."
This comes after the insurer agreed to provide more than 12,000 pounds to support a local youth football programme in Andover run by Lions in the Community last month.
