Thermo Fisher Scientific showcases new products at ISSCR 2014

Thermo Fisher Scientific has presented its latest technology innovations for stem cell researchers at the 12th annual International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) meeting.

The company attended the event in Vancouver to showcase new products aimed at streamlining stem cell research workflows, including pluripotent cell engineering, culturing, differentiation, characterisation, cryopreservation and storage solutions.

New additions included its Lipofectamine 3000 and Epi5 Episomal iPSC Reprogramming Vector reagents, PSC Cardiomyocyte Differentiation Kit and Molecular Probes Human Cardiomyocyte Immunocytochemistry and PSC Live Staining Kit.

It also presented its Thermo Scientific Nunclon Sphera non-adherent cell culture surface, Gibco Essential 8 Medium and updated analysis software for a number of existing products.

Dr Chris Armstrong, vice-president and general manager for cell biology at Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "We're proud to offer a deep portfolio of technologies that addresses the entire pluripotent stem cell research continuum to enable novel applications in drug discovery and human disease studies."

The firm also attended an American Society for Mass Spectrometry conference last week, giving it an opportunity to share further information on its growing portfolio.
