PerkinElmer launches new EnSight Multimode Plate Reader
PerkinElmer has announced the launch of its new EnSight Multimode Plate Reader, a new device that combines numerous functions into a single benchtop system.
It is the first plate reader on the market to offer both labeled and label-free detection on one system, together with well-imaging technology to facilitate cell imaging. This allows researchers to run assays on the same platform, generating predictive results earlier in the drug discovery process.
With applications in cancer, cytotoxicity, biotherapeutics, epigenetics and primary/stem cell research, the device enables users to generate more reliable readouts and obtain an expanded set of data from their samples.
EnSight's variety of technology modes can also be used to perform confirmatory assays, helping to ensure results are not biased to the detection technologies used during the sampling process.
A company statement said: "We've developed an innovative offering designed to enable scientists to obtain new insights from their research, which can accelerate the development of new therapeutics."
This comes after PerkinElmer introduced Elm, an air monitoring service providing local air quality analysis for individuals, smart cities and sustainable communities, at the start of the month.
