KCI launches CelluTome Epidermal Harvesting System in Europe

4th July 2014

KCI has announced the launch of a new skin graft harvesting tool that offers a number of beneficial features for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds.

The CelluTome Epidermal Harvesting System offers an automated, precise and reproducible process of harvesting autologous epidermal tissue for grafting in a minimally invasive way, reducing the risk of donor site complications.

It was recently demonstrated to approximately 300 healthcare professionals from across Europe, the Middle East and Asia during the International Surgical Wound Forum, which took place in Edinburgh last month.

This will make the benefits of skin grafting available to a wider range of clinicians and patients, ensuring a new wound need not be created to treat another.

Dr Ron Silverman, chief medical officer at KCI, said: "Using epidermal micrografts harvested with the CelluTome System, we now have the ability to promote healing and wound closure over freshly granulated tissue with minimal damage to the donor site."

The device is being rolled out across Europe having been successfully introduced in the US market last year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801733437-ADNFCR
