Thermo Fisher Scientific launches K-Alpha Plus spectrometer

10th July 2014

Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the launch of its new x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) solution that offers advanced capabilities at an affordable price.

The Thermo Scientific K-Alpha Plus spectrometer is an enhanced version of the award-winning K-Alpha instrument incorporating Plus detection technology, which improves count rates and offers better recognition of low concentration components.

Other benefits include its accelerated chemical state resolution and compact design, making it a cost-effective method for analysing metals, polymers, fabrics, composites and other solids.

It also incorporates an optional MAGCIS dual-mode ion source, industry-leading Thermo Scientific Avantage Data System software and a design that prioritises high throughput and reliability.

Kevin Fairfax, nanoscale materials analysis general manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "We designed the K-Alpha Plus to give users of all experience levels access to the same performance more advanced scientists and researchers have come to expect."

This comes after the firm launched its new CeLLInsight CX5 High Content Screening Platform for quantitative cell-based imaging last week.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801734617-ADNFCR
