ConvaTec names new chief financial officer

ConvaTec has announced the appointment of Nigel Clerkin as its new chief financial officer with immediate effect.

The former executive vice-president and chief financial officer of Elan Corporation can boast extensive experience of financial executive roles, having served in a number of key positions for Elan since joining in 1998.

He has been credited with building significant shareholder value for Elan, culminating in the sale of the company to pharmaceutical manufacturer Perrigo in December 2013.

Mr Clerkin has been appointed as the successor to John Cannon, who will remain with ConvaTec as senior vice-president for financial operations.

Ken Berger, chief executive officer of ConvaTec, said: "His track record in creating value at a major public company will be a great asset for us as we grow and evolve as a company."

The firm achieved a year-on-year revenue increase of 3.9 percent during 2013, with further double-digit growth achieved during the first quarter of this year.
