Bite Communications ‘to largely retain current workforce following merger’
Bite Communications will be making only a small number of layoffs as part of its merger into the Text 100 network, according to its parent company.
Tim Dyson, chief executive of Next Fifteen, told PRWeek that Bite will retain most of its global workforce after its Asia-Pacific and mainland Europe operations are merged into Text 100.
Bite's offices in the US and UK will not be affected by the transition, which will see the firm transform from a global agency into a digital-oriented business.
Mr Dyson went on to explain that it is unlikely that Bite will continue to hire what he described as "classic PR people" in future, as it increases its focus on content, analytics and the development of technology for chief marketing officers (CMOs).
He explained: "Three to five years from now, it will not be unusual for CMOs to dedicate a portion of their budget to technology to solve marketing problems, rather than an agency."
Founded in 1995, Bite currently has 15 offices worldwide and has experience of working with leading tech brands such as Sony, HTC, Dell, Siemens, Adobe and McAfee.
