GE Healthcare launches pocket-sized dual-probe ultrasound device

19th August 2014

GE Healthcare has announced the launch of its new Vscan with Dual Probe device – the first two-in-one pocket ultrasound probe of its kind.

The new product houses two transducers in a single probe, allowing clinicians to see both shallow and deep views of the body without needing to change probes – thereby accelerating workflows and reducing costs.

Additionally, it is ultra-portable, extremely easy to use and offers excellent image quality, making it useful in a variety of emergency care, diagnostic and medical education applications.

This comes as part of the company's wider strategy of making innovative new ultrasound solutions available to patients and doctors worldwide.

Ajay Parkhe, general manager of primary care ultrasound at GE Healthcare, said: "Our pocket-sized ultrasound technology provides both deep and shallow scans to help healthcare providers make confident decisions quickly, impacting both cost and time."

This comes after the firm announced its new Signa PET/MR scanning device has received premarket approval in the US.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801743168-ADNFCR
