Allergan appoints chief financial officer

20th August 2014

Allergan has announced the appointment of Jim Hindman as its executive vice-president for finance and business development and chief financial officer with immediate effect.

Mr Hindman has been with the company since 1984 and has served as senior vice-president for treasury, risk and investor relations since 2002. He is recognised as an important and trusted member of the Allergan leadership team.

He has been appointed as the successor to Jeff Edwards, who is stepping down from his position after 21 years with the firm due to family commitments.

The outgoing chief financial officer will remain with Allergan in a non-executive officer capacity to facilitate a smooth transition.

David Pyott, Allergan's chairman of the board and chief executive officer, said: "We are confident that his long tenure and experience in our finance organisation, together with his strong record as a leader in the company, will be invaluable as he assumes his new role."

This comes after the firm recently announced the acquisition of LiRIS, a promising new treatment for interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801743306-ADNFCR
