CVS acquires Edinburgh’s West End Veterinary Partnership

20th August 2014

CVS has announced the acquisition of West End Veterinary Partnership, a well-established small animal practice in Edinburgh.

Employing around 12 staff, the practice has its main site on Bread Street, plus two additional branches elsewhere in the city. Following the takeover, owners David Rimer and Maurice Hunter will become joint clinical directors with CVS.

West End Vets has become the 100th practice groups within the CVS practice division, operating out of 267 sites across the UK. The company is rapidly diversifying, both in terms of the type of practice and geographic spread.

Simon Innes, chief executive of CVS, said: "We are rapidly broadening the range of practices within CVS, both in terms of the type of practice and in terms of geographic spread."

As a result of this and other recent additions, CVS is now the largest and fastest-growing mixed practice corporate veterinary group in the UK, employing more than 3,000 members of staff nationwide.

In addition to its vet practices, it operates five laboratories performing diagnostics services for the animal health sector and two pet crematoria.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801743571-ADNFCR
