GCI Health appoints new head of consumer wellness offering

GCI Health has announced the promotion of Elisia Canna to a new leadership role within its consumer health business.

Ms Canna, the agency's former director of consumer health, has been appointed as executive vice-president of health and wellness, where she will lead the expansion of its consumer wellness offering Well Living.

The firm is seeking to expand the scope of its services in this area due to the increased focus in the consumer space on feeling well and maintaining a good level of health, rather than simply avoiding illness.

Ms Canna is an experienced comms professional who has been with GCI Health since 2011. Prior to this, she was employed by agencies such as Porter Novelli and Ogilvy PR Worldwide.

Wendy Lund, chief executive officer of GCI Health, said: "Elisia's experience in consumer health and her attention to insights that activate consumers and embrace client brands will be invaluable to our work going forward."

This comes after the firm added five members to its team in London, including the appointment of Hannah Morris as a board director, earlier on this month.
