Horiba Scientific launches update to LabSpec spectroscopy software

Horiba Scientific has announced the launch of a major new update to its LabSpec 6 Raman spectroscopy software platform.

Version 6.3 of the software offers a new 3D surface and volume display module, making it fully compatible with high-resolution confocal volume maps acquired using the company's range of Raman microscopes.

The internal chemical structure of complex heterogeneous samples have been made easier to view via a range of map rotation, transparency, filtering and slicing options, with various new customisation tools and other ease-of-use enhancements having also been incorporated.

Dr Simon FitzGerald, Raman software product manager at Horiba, said: "This new release for our LabSpec 6 software further enhances our commitment to simplify the intricacies of Raman spectroscopy for scientists and researchers."

Last month, the company expanded the scope of its life science business further with the completion of its acquisition of Photon Technology International, a leading supplier of research spectrofluorometers.
