Philips wins product award for Sonicare Airfloss toothbrush
Philips has been named as one of the winners of the 2014 Pride Institute Best of Class Technology awards for its Sonicare Airfloss toothbrush.
The handheld electronic interdental cleaning device was recognised for its exemplary design principles and contribution to redefining patient care standards and current practice management approaches.
An independent panel of technology experts on the Best of Class advisory board selected the Philips product for the accolade following a year of individual analysis and review.
The Sonicare AirFloss was designed to make it easy for patients who do not floss to remove plaque, reduce gingivitis and improve gum health. It has been proven to do so in clinical studies.
Dr Lou Shuman, president of the Best of Class Award programme, said: "This is the list every practitioner should be waiting for every year. It has become a go-to list for the dental community, who can be completely confident they are purchasing the current state-of-the-art products."
This comes after Philips' Sonicare DiamondClean Black Edition won a prize at the 2014 iF design awards earlier this year.
