Leica Microsystems launches new DMi8 inverted microscope
Leica Microsystems has announced the launch of its new inverted microscope that aims to provide a universal platform for life science applications.
The modular DMi8 system can be custom-configured for a wide variety of applications, from basic imaging to advanced fluorescence microscopy, while it also supports the full range of contrast methods.
It is equipped with an additional incident illumination port, the Infinity Port, to facilitate the integration of additional light sources and laser systems for advanced applications. Meanwhile, its highly accurate closed-loop focus drive enables researchers to investigate large specimens with high precision.
Bernard Kleine, product manager for Leica Microsystems, said: "With the Leica DMi8, we serve customer needs ranging from plain microscopy to advanced research applications, and pay heed to the fact that tasks and applications in research change."
This comes after the firm announced a new collaboration with Advanced Cell Diagnostics to co-market a new fully automated RNA in situ hybridisation assay solution last month.
