Virbac to run canine BPH awareness campaign this November
Virbac has announced that it will be running its Canine Prostate Awareness Month once again in November 2014 to help raise awareness of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
The purpose of the campaign will be to educate pet owners on the common yet painful condition, which affects more than 80 percent of male dogs over the age of five. It often goes unnoticed until it reaches a fairly advanced stage.
As such, UK vet practices will be provided with a range of promotional materials, postcards, an email/text message service, a template press release for local media and free branded slip leads for owners who get their dog checked during the promotion.
Sarah Walker, companion animal product manager at Virbac, said: "We're providing practices with all the materials they need to promote the campaign locally and hope those involved will find it effective."
Virbac offers a range of products to aid the treatment of BPH, including the diagnostic test Odelis CPSE and the fast-acting tablet therapy Ypozane.
It is the number one dedicated veterinary pharmaceutical company in the world, dedicating its research efforts exclusively to animal health issues.
