CME Medical provides support for trainee nurses in Ormskirk

CME Medical has donated a T34 Ambulatory Syringe Pump to aid the training of student nurses at Edge Hill University in Ormskirk.

The device is being used in simulation techniques as part of a series of workshops set up for third year pre-registration nursing students at the university, covering various aspects of end-of-life care.

It means students can gain risk-free hands-on hospital experience using up-to-date equipment, taking place at the university's Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre, which is designed to look and feel like a real hospital ward.

The T34 Pump will be used to practice and perform essential drug calculations with common medication used at end-of-life care, including morphine and Midazolam.

John Carrington, managing director at CME Medical, said: "We are always keen to get involved with new initiatives for students out in the community and are delighted to work with Edge Hill University."

This comes after the firm recently allied with Spark Impact to invest in Touchstone Medical, a specialist supplier of gynaecology and women's health solutions.
