Sirona launches world’s most powerful dental turbine

Sirona has launched a new dental turbine that it claims to be the single most powerful device of its kind on the market.

Called the T3 Racer, the device achieves air pressure of 3.3 bar and a power output of 30 watts. This makes the turbine less strenuous to use than its counterparts, providing users with a higher degree of control and comfort.

Manufactured in Germany from rust-proof, durable stainless steel, the device is also easy to clean, thermally disinfect and sterilise. It features ceramic ball bearings for near-silent operation, as well as an innovative cooling spray that further reduces noise.

Commenting on the launch, Sirona's product manager for rotating instruments Frank Peichl said that because dental professionals use turbines upwards of 50 to 100 times per day, everything "has to be just right".

"For dentists, the added power means they can work more quickly and efficiently," he added.

The T3 Racer is manufactured in a purpose-built facility in Bensheim, Germany, which Sirona inaugurated last year.
