Hill-Rom names new chief operating officer

14th October 2014

Hill-Rom has announced the appointment of Carlyn Solomon, formerly of Edwards Lifesciences, as its new chief operating officer.

Mr Solomon will join the company in November 2014, having spent nine years at Edwards Lifesciences in a number of roles, most recently including that of corporate vice-president for the firm's critical care and vascular businesses.

Having been credited with significantly accelerating revenue growth and improving profitability during his time at Edwards, he will be handed responsibility for all of Hill-Rom's global commercial, research and development, quality assurance, regulatory affairs and supply chain operations.

Prior to joining Edwards, Mr Solomon spent 18 years at Baxter, where he enjoyed a similarly successful career.

John Greisch, Hill-Rom's president and chief executive officer, said: "Carlyn's expertise in growing businesses and improving operations makes him the ideal chief operating officer for us, and will enable me to devote much more of my attention to our growth strategy."

The company has forecast revenue growth of between six and eight percent during the fourth quarter of its current fiscal year, following the recent completion of its takeover of Trumpf Medical.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801754320-ADNFCR
