Waters reports further year-on-year growth in Q3 2014

Waters has announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2014, during which it achieved an eight percent year-on-year sales increase.

During Q3, the firm recorded a sales total of $493 million (306.8 million pounds), while on a GAAP basis, its earnings per diluted share (EPS) for the quarter came to $1.34, compared to $1.14 for the corresponding period of 2013. 

Douglas Berthiaume, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Waters, said: "Broad-based demand from pharmaceutical customers highlighted our strong organic revenue growth in the third quarter. In addition, improvements in margins contributed to solid mid-teens EPS growth."

For the first nine months of 2014, sales for the company have now reached a running total of $1.41 billion, which is five percent more than at the same point of last year. It means Waters is on track to exceed 2013's $1.9 billion revenue total.

This follows the launch of Waters' new custom-built mass spectrometry headquarters in Wilmslow last month. A state-of-the-art site spanning 2,313 sq m, it will employ more than 500 people.
