Olympus launches new DP27 and DP22 digital cameras

Olympus has announced the launch of its new DP27 and DP22 digital cameras, the latest addition to its range of digital cameras for microscopy.

Both cameras – including the five-megapixel DP27 and three-megapixel DP22 variants – deliver fluid imaging at full HD resolution via a USB 3.0 interface, while also enabling easy optimisation for various applications via three distinct modes.

When precise focusing of intricate samples is necessary, the DP27 can provide a fast 15 fps live image at five megapixels, allowing users to effectively zoom in directly on the display. The device offers a high-fidelity mode to generate true-to-life images, or a normal mode with enhanced colours.

Meanwhile, the new DP2-SAL controller makes it possible to directly connect the camera to a monitor. With no dedicated computer, this compact controller simplifies image acquisition.

The company said: "Improving the quality and efficiency of digital microscope cameras, the DP27 and DP22 models enable an experience almost indistinguishable from the oculars with brilliant, full HD live images and high-resolution capture."

This follows the launch of the XLPLN10XSVMP and XLSLPLN25XGMP objective lenses for deep imaging applications last month.
