Consilium Strategic Communications makes new senior hires

Consilium Strategic Communications has announced the addition of two new members to its senior team.

Jonathan Birt has been appointed as a partner, having previously served as managing director at FTI Consulting and Financial Dynamics in London and New York until 2013. He is a specialist in pharmaceutical, medical and agricultural technologies, reports Gorkana.

Additionally, he enjoyed a successful career as a journalist, serving as head of European equities at Reuters and head of UK equities at Dow Jones.

Mary-Jane Elliott, managing partner of Consilium, said: "He is one of the most highly respected healthcare specialists in Europe and his international experience complements our business model well."

Meanwhile, Laura Thornton has been hired as an executive consultant, having previously worked with Tulchan Communications. She has a degree in neuroscience from the University of Bristol.

The agency has experience of working with a wide range of leading pharmaceutical companies, including Roche, Novartis, Merck Sharp and Dohme, Sanofi and Gilead Sciences.
