New dental payment plan recognition scheme launched by BDHF
The British Dental Health Foundation (BDHF), the UK's leading oral health charity, has introduced a new dental payment plan recognition scheme.
Launched to reflect the recent significant rise in the availability of dental insurance and cash reimbursement schemes, the Dental Payment Plan 'Recognised' Scheme will make it easier for patients to find high-quality services.
It aims to build on the success of the BDHF's existing worldwide product accreditation scheme, which has endorsed more than 150 over-the-counter dental health products that are sold in 55 countries around the world.
This scheme is the largest of its kind globally and has become a recognised gold standard in oral health products. It is hoped that the new offering will be able to emulate this.
Dr Nigel Carter, chief executive of the British Dental Health Foundation, said: "There are a number of different dental plans on the market, and the recognition scheme now gives insurers the opportunity to provide consumers with a new level of assurance."
The BDHF is an independent charity that provides free and impartial dental advice to the public. Its global arm is called the International Dental Health Foundation.
