Elanco survey shows high satisfaction with Comfortis

Elanco has announced results from a new study that demonstrated consumers' strong levels of satisfaction with its chewable flea control tablets Comfortis.

Carried out among 330 veterinary nurses during the British Veterinary Nursing Association Congress, the poll revealed that nurses believe Comfortis is appreciated by cat owners nearly as much as dog owners.

The results showed that 93 percent of veterinary nurses who had recommended Comfortis to cat owners declared that they had been either satisfied or extremely satisfied, with 98 percent stating that the same was true of dog owners.

Earlier this year, Elanco examined the benefits provided by the spinosad-based tablets when administered to a colony of 15 indoor cats naturally infested with fleas. Comfortis was found to be 100 percent effective, with no adult fleas found on any cat between days 15 and 90 of the trial period.

Moreover, a greater level of palatability was observed than previously seen in clinical trials, while there were no side effects in any of the cats.
