Thermo Fisher Scientific increases compatibility of pH electrodes

Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced that its Orion ROSS Ultra Triode electrodes have been made compatible with pH meters from a broader range of manufacturers.

The electrodes can now be used with meters that can support a 30K NTC thermistor curve with an RCA plug, making it possible for more scientists in biotech, pharmaceutical, chemical and food laboratories to take advantage of the technology.

Designed to couple pH measurement stability with automated temperature control, the electrodes are a convenient solution for both routine sample measurements or challenging research applications.

Their unique ROSS internal reference system allows for highly repeatable readings and means the electrode is able to stabilise within 30 seconds, even when measuring samples of varying temperatures.

Edward Somes, director of research and development for water analysis instruments at Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "This latest enhancement makes it possible for more scientists in biotech, pharmaceutical, chemical and food laboratories to realise the benefits of the ROSS Ultra Triode technology."

This comes after the firm launched its new NXType Kit, a new solution for human leukocyte antigen typing by next-generation sequencing, earlier this month.
