Porter Novelli names new UK head of technology

Porter Novelli has announced the appointment of Steve Loynes as its new head of technology in the UK.

Mr Loynes, who previously served as UK technology head at Hill and Knowlton Strategies, has been hired to succeed Grant Currie, who has left Porter Novelli to become senior director of European corporate communications at software company Workday.

Porter Novelli's UK managing director Fenella Grey told The Holmes Report that this appointment comes as part of wider structural changes at the firm, which also include last month's hire of Debbie Spitz as director of the UK technology practice.

She said: "It's been a year of good growth and success this year. We wish Grant all the best."

Meanwhile, Hill and Knowlton has announced that technology director Charlie Morgan will now oversee its UK practice following the departure of Mr Loynes.

Hill and Knowlton's UK chief executive officer Richard Millar said: "Charlie has proven herself to be an excellent client and new business practitioner and outstanding leader of people."
