Philips and Indica Labs announce imaging technology collaboration

16th January 2015

Philips has announced a new advanced image analysis technology compatibility agreement with Indica Labs.

Under the terms of the deal, Philips will offer advanced image analysis algorithms from Indica Labs as part of its Digital Pathology Solutions offerings, in order to support oncology researchers' efforts to analyse pathology samples.

Thanks to this arrangement, pathology researchers will be able to apply intelligent algorithms to digitised pathology slides, thus enhancing their ability to detect, process and extract information from tissue samples.

Key advantages of the unified platform include streamlined image analysis workflow, improved productivity and the ability to extract more thorough information from tissue samples.

Perry van Rijsingen, general manager of digital pathology solutions at Philips, said: "More information from tissue samples could bring new insights in cancer care that support personal treatment, and ultimately will save patients' lives."

This comes after the company recently agreed a deal to acquire Volcano, a leader in the field of catheter-based imaging and measurement solutions for cardiovascular applications.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801770630-ADNFCR
