Virbac introduces new BackHome Mini Chips

24th February 2015

Virbac has announced the launch of its new BackHome Mini Chips, a compact new pet microchipping solution.

Measuring only eight mm in length, the chips are made of pharmaceutical-grade glass and feature an anti-migration coating. Because of their smaller size, they can be implanted with a needle that is 34 percent smaller than the standard needle.

The aim of the new product is to offer a solution that is more comfortable and provides a less stressful implantation process than the standard 12 mm BackHome chip.

Coinciding with this, Virbac has launched a partnership with VetEnvoy, a service which works with practice management software to enable pet and owner registration details for BackHome Mini Chips to be uploaded to the Petlog database at the press of a button.

Sarah Walker, product manager at Virbac, said: "We hope that practices will be able to reassure their clients that microchipping will not cause their pet discomfort – and that the protection it offers will last a lifetime."

Earlier this month, the company launched Deltanil, a deltamethrin-based product for use in protecting livestock against flies and lice.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801776974-ADNFCR
