Nestle named world’s most admired food company for tenth year
Nestle has been ranked as the most admired food company in the world in a list compiled by Fortune magazine.
The publication's annual survey of the world's most admired companies is compiled by canvassing the opinions of more than 4,000 executives, directors and analysts, who rate businesses on attributes such as product quality, innovation, social responsibility, HR and financial soundness.
For the 2015 report, Nestle came 33rd overall, while topping the list for the food industry for the tenth year in a row.
In the last year, the company announced that it would be adopting animal welfare standards affecting 7,300 suppliers, a move that will greatly improve quality of life for animals used in food production.
It was also scored particularly highly on metrics such as innovation, HR policies, use of corporate assets, long-term investment value, global competitiveness, quality of management and product quality.
The Swiss company remains the largest food and beverage conglomerate in the world, with annual revenues of $92 billion (59.84 billion pounds).
