Lab M launches new BPW product for Salmonella testing
Lab M has announced the launch of uPrep Buffered Peptone Water (BPW), a ready-to-reconstitute product for use in Salmonella testing.
Supplied in a simple, bagged format, uPrep BPW is a pre-enrichment broth formulated to ISO 6579 and designed to help sub-lethally damaged Salmonellae recover before introducing them into a selective medium.
It is free from inhibitors and well-buffered to maintain pH 7.0 for the incubation period. Each uPrep bag is sufficient for the preparation of 20 litres of medium. It can be prepared with minimal training and is ready to use within minutes.
The company said: "uPrep Buffered Peptone Water is designed specifically for such high throughput testing environments. The medium requires only the addition of water and no autoclaving is needed, helping to increase laboratory efficiencies."
Lab M provides a wide range of offerings for Salmonella testing, including the Pinnacle ready-prepared plates of Salmonella ABC chromogenic medium, for the isolation of Salmonellae from food samples.
The firm also introduced a new Cronobacter sakazakii isolation medium to the Pinnacle range at the end of last year.
