Agilent’s OpenLAB software adopted by Tufts University

Agilent Technologies has announced a major new university client for its OpenLAB informatics software suite.

Tufts University has adopted OpenLAB for enterprise data acquisition, management and sharing among researchers on the university's three Massachusetts campuses, which will allow principal investigators to make data available to the public upon request, while maintaining confidentiality.

The software will also allow investigators to carry out best practice data management plans and make it easier for researchers to comply with regulatory requirements.

A scalable, open-architecture software suite that permits users to easily capture, analyse and share scientific data, OpenLAB consists of three integrated components: a chromatography data system, electronic lab notebook and enterprise content management system.

John Sadler, general manager of Agilent's software and informatics business, said: "OpenLAB is a comprehensive informatics suite that can bring differentiated value to university research and teaching. Agilent's ability to offer a total informatics solution distinguishes us from the competition."

This comes after the firm launched its new HaloPlex HS target enrichment system and ClearSeq Comprehensive Cancer research panel for cancer research last month.
