Simplyhealth helps to pay for equipment upgrades at Anxiety UK

Simplyhealth has made a donation of 2,365 pounds to Anxiety UK to help the charity make important upgrades to its helpline service.

The charity provides support to thousands of callers affected by anxiety every year from its centre in Hulme, Manchester. The money provided by Simplyhealth will be used to purchase new telephones, headsets, sound screens and two computers for the volunteer support area.

Since the helpline is in constant demand – with individuals receiving help every 14 minutes – the equipment will be vital in making it possible for volunteers to address every call as effectively as possible.

Dan Curtis, spokesperson for Simplyhealth, said: "We're very proud to support the charity and hope everyone working on the helpline, and those calling for information and guidance, feels the benefit of the new improvements."

Simplyhealth has active community funds in four of its locations – Andover, Bristol, Leeds and Manchester – which are in place to support charities and organisations in the local community.

Earlier this month, the insurer provided 50,000 pounds to the Macular Society to support its Daily Living Champion service, which trains volunteers to demonstrate low vision aids to those affected by macular disease.
