Sigma-Aldrich ranked among world’s top corporate citizens
Sigma-Aldrich has been named to Corporate Responsibility Magazine's list of the 100 best corporate citizens.
The company was ranked fifth in the list, representing its best performance to date. This marks its fourth appearance in the ranking, achieving an improvement of 23 places compared to its 2014 evaluation.
Compiled by Corporate Responsibility Magazine each year for the last 16 years, the list ranks companies on the Russell 1000 Index and is governed by a Corporate Responsibility Officers Association ratings and rankings committee.
It is based on publicly available information in seven categories: environment, climate change, employee relations, human rights, governance, finance, and philanthropy and community support.
Rakesh Sachdev, president and chief executive officer of Sigma-Aldrich, said: "Sustainability is a priority for our 9,000-plus employees globally and I am proud of the progress we have made as a company and the impact it is having on the world around us."
This comes after the firm was named by Corporate Knights as the 38th most sustainable corporation in the world during the World Economic Forum in Davos earlier this year.
