Unilever agrees partnerships with Global Citizen and Live Earth: Road to Paris

1st May 2015

Unilever has announced the formation of new partnerships with the global sustainability movements Global Citizen and Live Earth: Road to Paris.

The new alliances align with the firm's brightFuture campaign, which aims to encourage sustainability-focused consumer action, as well as its own efforts to grow its business while reducing its environmental footprint and increasing its positive social impact.

Under these new initiatives, the company will partner with Live Earth: Road to Paris across its series of global events this June, while urging climate-conscious people to sign the Take Climate Action Now pledge.

Additionally, the organisations will be working to build the world's largest, most effective social activism campaign, in order to help address the issue of global sustainable development.

Paul Polman, chief executive officer of Unilever, said: "2015 is a critical moment in time, an opportunity to agree on a universal agenda that tackles poverty and inequality and to all take action to protect the one planet we have."

During the first quarter of the year, the company was able to increase its turnover by 12.3 percent, with underlying sales growth of 2.8 percent.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801786140-ADNFCR
