Capella PR to promote launch of Storm Technologies’ new search engine
Capella PR has been appointed by technology start-up Storm Technologies to help it launch a new search engine with an ethical slant.
The Storm search engine, which is currently in beta testing, shares the commission earned by the company from referring traffic to online retailers with a consumer's favourite charity or organisation.
Capella PR will be working to raise awareness of Storm and its 'give as you go' model among consumers and via charity and business media, having already helped secure a half-page profile for the client in the Telegraph.
Storm incorporates technology developed by Alex Kontos, who created the popular Waterfox browser in his bedroom in 2011 while still attending school. Mr Kontos remains a director of Storm, which is backed by investors such as former Symantec boss Kevin Taylor and venture capitalist Andrew Crossland.
Gareth Thomas, founder of Capella PR, told PRWeek: "The search engine market is ripe for disruption and Storm has devised a really innovative and ethical way to do this. Together with the fascinating backstory of Alex, it' a great story that we relish telling."
The agency was named small consultancy of the year at the 2014 PRCA Awards, underlining the success it has enjoyed in the recent past.
