ConvaTec launches new Aquacel Foam dressing size options

ConvaTec has announced the launch of a number of new size options for its Aquacel Foam dressing for a wider variety of anatomical wound care applications.

New options include 8cm x 13cm, 10cm x 20cm, 10cm x 25cm and 10cm x 30cm, which are applicable for head and neck, shoulder, lower leg and wrist applications, as well as the lower abdomen for appendectomies, Caesarean sections and midline incisions.

The new rectangular sizes are available with a silicone adhesive border only, with non-adhesive options not currently available. They are launching initially in major markets including the UK, US, Canada, France and Australia.

ConvaTec has introduced the new offerings in response to customer and patient needs, with response to the dressings since their launch described as "overwhelming".

Joe Rolley, general manager for ConvaTec's wound therapeutics business, said: "The launch of the Aquacel Foam dressing was the most successful in ConvaTec's history, because no-one else provides the comfort of a foam dressing with the properties of Hydrofiber Technology to manage wounds."

The global medical products and technologies company has more than 9,000 employees and operates in over 100 countries. It appointed Paul Moraviec as its new chief executive officer last month.
