Source BioScience hails strong performance in 2015 to date

Source BioScience has provided a trading update at its 2015 annual general meeting, highlighting the strong progress the company has made towards its business objectives so far this year.

Following an encouraging performance in 2014, the company has been able to maintain its momentum, seeing increased demand from the NHS for its gene-based and companion diagnostic products and services.

During the first half of the year, the firm launched its new non-invasive prenatal testing service, while expanding its sequencing laboratory network with the launch of the Overnight Service from its facility in Atlanta.

It has also made enhancements to its website and web-based portal and invested significantly in additional specialised facilities to support its stability and biostorage services and products.

This follows the successful integration of the acquisitions Source BioScience made during 2013 and the completion of a number of significant infrastructure projects to improve operational efficiencies and enhance capacity.

Laurie Turnbull, chairman of Source BioScience, said: "The momentum created during 2014 has continued into 2015 and the group continues to trade in line with management expectations for the full year."
