Up to help EE launch video streaming app Skeegle
Up Communications has been appointed by mobile network operator EE to handle the launch of Skeegle, a free live video streaming app.
The agency was hired by EE's director of corporate comms and PR Mat Sears and Skeegle founder Florent de Bodman based on its strong track record of work with technology sector start-ups, reports PRWeek.
Skeegle is being made available via any of the UK's 4G mobile networks and is a personal live streaming service, meaning broadcasts will only be shared with close contacts.
It is being launched as part of EE's wider corporate strategy, dubbed Connected, which focuses on finding ways of delivering innovation and creating new products faster.
Stuart Jackson, chief executive officer and founder of Up, said: "It's been a highly confidential and hugely exciting project for Up to work on, fusing groundbreaking 4G technology and smart thinking to create something really special."
Mr Jackson and Up co-founder Lynne Arrowsmith are both former employees of EE, who left the company to set up their agency last summer.
