Cellectricon names first member of new scientific advisory board
Cellectricon has announced the formation of a new scientific advisory board, with Dr Edwin Johnson named as its first member.
To be established over the next few months, the hand-picked board will bring together highly experienced scientists with extensive drug discovery backgrounds in the fields of chronic pain and central nervous system research.
Dr Johnson can boast more than 20 years of experience in central nervous system discovery and development, especially in the field of neuroscience. He is the current director of the Stockholm Brain Institute.
Over the course of his career, he has been involved in numerous drug discovery programmes and has headed up teams working on drugs for the treatment of cognitive disorders, Parkinson’s disease and depression.
David Burns, chief executive officer of Cellectricon, said: "We are very pleased to welcome Dr Johnson to our newly-formed scientific advisory board, as he will provide valuable domain knowledge that will aid the development of our proprietary discovery services for our clients."
The company withdrew from all direct product sales activities last September to focus entirely on its core business areas.
