BioMerieux reports strong financial results for first half of 2015

BioMerieux has announced its financial results for the first half of 2015, during which it delivered a sales total of 933 million euros (647.94 million pounds).

This represented a year-on-year increase of 19.5 percent on a year-over-year basis as reported, or 8.1 percent in like-for-like terms. This was attributed to its rapid rate of growth in the Americas and its return to more sustained expansion in Asia-Pacific.

It saw robust demand in priority areas for growth, with FilmArray sales doubling year on year, allowing the installed base to expanded to nearly 1,900 instruments.

Additionally, a solid five percent gain in clinical microbiology was recorded, alongside a sustained 7.4 percent improvement in Vidas sales and a 4.4 percent rise in industrial applications.

Alexandre Merieux, chief executive officer at BioMerieux, said: "We are confirming the 2015 organic sales growth objective set earlier this year."

The firm will be actively pursuing operating projects designed to drive sustainable and profitable growth in order to maintain its momentum.
