Keeler announces retirement of long-serving president
Keeler has announced that Keeler Instruments president David Keeler is stepping down from his position at the company.
Mr Keeler originally joined the family business in 1965, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, who founded the organisation in 1917. He has been serving as president of Keeler Instruments since 1972.
Jobson Medical Information, the publisher of the Review of Optometry and Review of Ophthalmology journals, has presented Mr Keeler with its annual lifetime achievement award in recognition of his work over the decades.
This accolade is typically only awarded to doctors who make outstanding contributions to the eye care industry, with Mr Keeler being the first recipient who is not a doctor.
Andrew Williams, chief executive officer of Keeler's parent company Halma thanked Mr Keeler "for his immense contribution and his 50 years of service to the Keeler Group in his role as president of Keeler".
The firm specialises in diagnostic and magnification products for professionals in the optical and healthcare industries. It has been part of the Halma group since 1996.
