Align Technology highlights strength of financial results for Q2 2015
Align Technology has been able to generate revenues of $209.5 million (135.02 million pounds) during the second quarter of 2015 – up by 8.8 percent on the corresponding period of 2014.
Its Invisalign clear aligner shipments for the quarter came to 144,600, a 21.2 percent increase year over year. On a constant currency basis, year-on-year total revenue growth would have been 14.2 percent, with clear aligner sales growing by 17.5 percent.
During the period, Align achieved a record quarter for North American ortho utilisation and record volumes in almost every major country in Europe, as well as China, Japan, south-east Asia and Taiwan.
Joe Hogan, Align's president and chief executive officer, said: "Our second-quarter results were solid, driven by strong Invisalign volume and growth across all customer channels and geographies."
The company has also announced the introduction of a new product policy called Additional Aligners At No Charge, meaning customers will no longer have to pay for additional aligners ordered beyond those covered by the initial treatment plan.
This will help Align to address one the key causes of customer dissatisfaction that it currently faces.
