St Jude Medical appoints Zimmer Biomet boss as new board member

St Jude Medical has announced the appointment of David Dvorak to its board of directors with immediate effect.

Mr Dvorak is the president and chief executive officer of fellow medical technology company and musculoskeletal healthcare leader Zimmer Biomet, a role he has held for the last eight years.

He first joined the Zimmer group in 2001, shortly after the company's spin-off from Bristol-Myers Squibb, and has served in a number of positions of escalating responsibility over the last decade and a half.

The experienced business leader also currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the Advanced Medical Technology Association, having previously been the chairman of its board.

Daniel Starks, chairman, president and chief executive officer of St Jude Medical, said: "David is a distinguished leader in the medical technology industry and will offer a broad strategic perspective to our business."

The firm is expecting to achieve total revenue growth in the range of four to six percent on a constant currency basis for 2015.
