Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer to present Eliquis data at ESC 2015
Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer will be presenting new data demonstrating the benefits of its drug Eliquis at the 2015 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress.
A total of 22 abstracts will be presented on Eliquis at the congress, which will be held from August 29th to September 2nd in London, in order to improve clinical understanding of the novel oral anticoagulant's performance.
Data will be discussed that reinforces the companies' commitment to the ongoing evaluation of Eliquis in both the nonvalvular atrial fibrillation and venous thromboembolism patient populations.
In addition, results from the AEGEAN (Assessment of an Educational and Guidance Programme for Eliquis Adherence in Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation) study will be analysed to gain further insights into adherence trends among users.
Dr Douglas Manion, head of specialty development at Bristol-Myers Squibb, said: "The Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer alliance is pleased to share 22 abstracts, which include important Eliquis data from both clinical trials and real-world analyses, at one of the world's largest and most influential cardiovascular meetings."
Eliquis was recommended for use in the prevention of blood clots by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence earlier this year.
