Ivoclar Vivadent launches new OptraGate lip and cheek retractor variants
Ivoclar Vivadent has announced the launch of two new colour variants of its lip and cheek retractor OptraGate, aimed specifically at children.
Offering effective retraction of the lips and cheeks during dental treatment, the device is now available in blue and pink versions, thus adding a playful and appealing aspect that will help to put younger patients at ease.
Typically, it can be challenging to retract soft tissue sufficiently with the use of dental mirrors, saliva ejectors and cotton rolls, with the retraction of the tissue often causing a defensive reaction in the patient.
OptraGate makes it easier for the patient to keep the mouth open, allowing practitioners to check the isolated treatment area more easily, and limiting the use of the dental mirror and saliva ejector to retracting the tongue only.
The company stated: "OptraGate allows unimpeded retraction of the lips and cheeks over a large area. At the same time, the soft and flexible material gives in to movements of the mouth in a controlled manner."
This follows the launch of Ivoclar Vivadent's new Bluephase Meter II dental radiometer and Bluephase Style M8 polymerisation light earlier this month.
